Prohibited & Restricted Items

Last updated: August 13, 2026

To keep the Furniture Department marketplace safe and trustworthy, vendors may not list certain products. This policy describes items that are prohibited or restricted. Vendors are responsible for ensuring their listings comply with this policy and with all applicable laws.

Prohibited Items

Vendors may not list, and Furniture Department does not permit:

  • Recalled products, or products subject to a stop-sale or do-not-sell order.
  • Counterfeit, stolen, or infringing goods.
  • Hazardous materials that are not properly disclosed, labeled, and packaged for sale and shipment.
  • Products that do not meet the applicable safety standards or regulatory requirements for their category.
  • Products whose sale is prohibited by federal, state, or local law.

Restricted Items

Some products may be listed only when they meet additional requirements — for example, products that carry mandatory warnings, certifications, or labeling obligations (such as flammability law-label requirements for upholstered furniture, or Proposition 65 warnings where applicable). Vendors are responsible for meeting these requirements and for the accuracy of the information in their listings.

Enforcement

Furniture Department may remove listings, withhold products from sale, suspend selling privileges, or take other action for violations of this policy. Compliance, product certifications, and the accuracy of listings are the responsibility of the vendor. We provide tools to help vendors meet their obligations, but we do not certify or guarantee vendor products.
